The 2019 Pasadena Showcase House Takes Place at the 22 Room Boddy Mansion at Descanso Gardens and runs through May 19
Yesterday, we spent the day in Pasadena, first checking out the vintage finds at the monthly Rose Bowl Flea Market, and then heading over to the Pasadena Showcase House which is always one of our favorite annual events here in the Los Angeles area. And we must say, the 2019 house did not disappoint! It may actually be one of our favorites to date, offering a more approachable and modern take on design with so many thoughtful touches and a stronger integration of technology and smart home integration than we’ve seen in the past.
The 22 rooms also seemed to flow so well together, which may be due in part to the fact that paint partner Dunn Edwards gave participating designers a color palette to choose from, thereby making the rooms and overall design feel cohesive.
Several of our interior design friends participated this year, and each knocked it out of the park! We were wowed by each and every space, from the Modern Family Salon designed by Four Point Design Build, Inc. and the tree house like Guest Bedroom Suite by Serena Brosio Design and Slesinski Design Group, to the Master Dressing Room by Jeffrey Design LLC and the gorgeous, light-filled kitchen designed by Samantha Williams Interior Design and Reliable Cabinets and more (featuring JennAir and Ferguson). Another of our favorite spaces was a tiny nook that was re-purposed as a “Cigar & Craft Retreat” by Studio Akiko (how cute is the ceiling monkey wallpaper by Astek Wallcoverings).

There’s no shortage of inspiration and innovative design ideas on display (did we mention the Entertainment Lounge featured Swarovski crystals embedded in the custom carpeting!). If you haven’t been yet, you MUST try to check it out before the house closes on May 19.
Ticket proceeds help support local symphonic, cultural and educational musically oriented programs for youth. The organization has awarded over $20 million dollars in gifts and grants to support the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Walt Disney Concert Hall, among other non-profit organizations.
