WestEdge Design Fair marked its second edition at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, October 16-19, 2014. The event kicked off with a floor-wide opening night party on Thursday, October 16, benefiting Heal the Bay, one of Southern California’s leading environmental nonprofit organizations. The evening welcomed over 1,200 guests including design luminaries and esteemed host committee members, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Ty Pennington, Amy Devers, Kathryn M. Ireland, Ed Begley Jr., Sharon Lawrence, and Oliver M. Furth, among others.
Over four days, nearly 8,500 design enthusiasts converged upon WestEdge, a 30% increase over 2013. Attendees had the opportunity to network with design industry insiders, see the latest in modern design, engage in 15+ panel discussions, and shop from over 100 exhibiting brands.
Thank you to all who came out to support the WestEdge Opening Night Party on Thursday, October 16; the evening raised funds for Heal the Bay, one of Southern California’s leading environmental organizations. And Friday, the festivities continued with a second charity event to support the important initiatives of the A+D Museum; guests were invited to network with the global design community and had the chance to win several prizes, including a premier ticket package to Modernism Week in Palm Springs and a Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet Artisan Fire Pizza Oven. Thank you to Bombay Sapphire, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Asahi Beer and BOTART for their support of both evenings.
Jenn-Air welcomed attendees to hear from leading names in the design industry on a variety of topics with educational panels and seminars throughout all days of the fair. While Thursday and Friday panels were geared for the design trade, Saturday and Sunday talks were targeted towards the consumer.
